TRUSSVILLE — Hewitt-Trussville Middle School’s competition cheerleading squad has received a bid to the UCA National High School Cheerleading Championship in Orlando, where it will get an opportunity to compete against squads from around the country.
The two-day National High School Cheerleading Championship competition will be in February.
Hewitt-Trussville got the bid following a near flawless routine in Jackson, Miss., on Dec. 6. That performance was good enough to earn the squad first place in the Dixie Regional Championship’s Large Junior High Division.
The team got the nod over other squads from Alabama, Louisiana and Mississippi.
