We are almost at the beginning of the New Year.
Once again, it is time to stop and take stock of your particular situation. If you run a business, are there certain items you have been meaning to do but you just have not had the time to handle? These things might be updating your corporate records, revising your employee handbook, holding an annual meeting, or developing a succession plan in the event of your death or disability.
If you are an individual, it may be time to look at drafting a will, do some estate planning, or setting up a trust for yourself and your loved ones. For landowners, now may be the time to deal with a title issue or boundary line issue that you have been putting off because there just hasn’t been a pressing need to deal with it before now. For legal issues, delay has the same price as in any other area of life. The issue may continue to grow worse with the passage of time.
Your particular issue may not be that big a deal if it is dealt with now. Whatever your situation, take this time of year as an opportunity to deal with those nagging issues that you have put off and see your attorney to discuss how your particular situation may be dealt with before it becomes an issue you can no longer avoid.
