TRUSSVILLE — The Trussville City Council on Thursday honored a Trussville Fire Department firefighter for graduating from the National Fire Academy.
Christopher Schmohl was recognized for the achievement by the council. Councilman Brian Plant said there are 3,481 National Fire Academy graduates in the country, and four belong to the Trussville Fire Department.
Schmohl has been with the department for more than 15 years.
“We’re very, very proud,” Plant said.
In other news, the city council approved Issis & Sons replacing carpet at the Trussville Civic Center for $13,800.
