TRUSSVILLE — Noah Tippen, now in his fifth year as a member of the Hewitt-Trussville varsity tennis team, recently committed to play at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College.
According to head coach Mike Higginbotham, Tippen has played No. 1 doubles along with either No. 1 or No. 2 in singles since his freshman season. He’s expected to anchor down those positions again as a senior.
The Huskies have reached the state tournament three times since Tippen’s freshman campaign.
“He is a solid student, and is well liked by his classmates,” Higginbotham said.
Tippen made the announcement via Twitter on Dec. 11.
“Officially committed to play tennis at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College next year,” Tippen posted on Twitter.
