TRUSSVILLE — A meeting will be held Friday, Jan. 16 for Hewitt-Trussville High School juniors interested in emergency medical services dual enrollment.
The meeting will be held in the lecture hall during sixth and seventh periods.
Hewitt-Trussville High School plans to partner with Jefferson State Community College to offer a dual enrollment EMS certification program for the 2015-2016 school year. The high school EMS program was developed in response to student interest as well as increased demand from the local area’s emergency services.
The EMS classes will be offered through a one period yearlong elective beginning next school year. Students who successfully complete the program will sit for the EMS licensure exam at the end of the training program.
There is potential for partial or full tuition payment through the Alabama Workforce Dual Enrollment Grant.
