TRUSSVILLE — Trussville Police Department Capt. Jeff Bridges said one person has been charged with driving under the influence in connection with a two-vehicle collision on Trussville-Clay Road on Tuesday night that injured two people.
The head-on collision occurred near Hewitt-Trussville Middle School when the vehicle driven by the person charged with DUI crossed over into the oncoming lane.
Bridges said a 32-year-old woman and a 2-year-old girl in the other vehicle were injured in the crash.
The driver who was charged had three children in the car, ages 9, 7 and 6 months.
Bridges said the road was closed while officers investigated the accident and the debris is cleared from the roadway.
The names of the victims or the person charged have not yet been released.
