MONTGOMERY — Alabama House of Representatives District 44 Rep. Danny Garrett has landed on the committees he wanted.
Garrett said he’s been assigned to the Education Ways and Means Committee and the Small Business and Commerce Committee.
Garrett said after he was elected to the House of Representatives that he wanted to be a part of those two committees.
He was also assigned to the K-12 Funding Subcommittee.
Garrett won the June 2014 Republican primary race for the State House District 44 seat over fellow Trussville candidates John Amari and Joe Freeman. Garrett earned 3,502 votes, Amari garnered 2,447 votes and Freeman received 725 votes.
Garrett said in June that he hopes to help bring jobs and industry to Alabama, improve the education and general funds, meet with and help the municipalities in District 44 and get people to work together.
District 44 covers Trussville, Clay and portions of Pinson.
