CHALKVILLE — A 10-year-old Chalkville Elementary School student was honored earlier this week for saving her mother’s life.
Janelle McDaniel was honored by the Center Point Fire District for her actions Dec. 4, 2014, when she came home from school to find her mother unresponsive on the floor.

She called 911 from her mother’s cell phone while tending to her two brothers, ages 2 years old and 6 months.
McDaniel was recognized by the Center Point Fire District and Jefferson County 9-1-1 Emergency Communications District at their monthly meeting.
