PINSON — A Pinson woman has died as a result of injuries she sustained in a vehicle accident.
According to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded just after 3 p.m. Monday to a single-vehicle accident in the 8100 block of Cedar Mountain Road north of Pinson.
A 1998 Honda Odyssey was traveling along Cedar Mountain Road near Emerald Lake Drive West when the driver lost control of the vehicle. The van left the roadway, passed through a fence and struck a tree.
The driver was the only occupant and was seriously injured in the crash. She was transported to UAB Hospital, where she later died.
The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as 25-year-old Amy Lynn Kurilla, of Pinson.
