BIRMINGHAM — Behind a strong performance at the Class 7A North Super Section wrestling tournament, Hewitt-Trussville qualifies 10 wrestlers for this week’s state tournament in Huntsville.
Class 7A weigh-ins are scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. in the Von Braun Center on Friday. Quarterfinal matches should begin at 9:30 a.m. that same day.
Here are the 10 quarterfinal matches for the Huskies:
106-pound weight class: Reagan Land faces Hoover’s Patterson Huff.
113: Trevor Mastro faces Thompson’s Cody Mealer.
120: Heath Williamson faces Tuscaloosa County’s James Holt.
145: Dalton Meadows faces Tuscaloosa County’s Josh Thompson.
160: Davis Perry faces Central-Phenix City’s Jamarrius Ford.
170: Nathaniel Campbell faces Oak Mountain’s Jaried Buxton.
182: Fred Denson faces Hoover’s Drew Addison.
195: Matthew Dehart faces Oak Mountain’s Christon Taylor.
220: Nathan Massey faces Central-Phenix City’s Jeruel Hunter.
285: Kyle Miskelley faces Central-Phenix City’s Trevin Eley.
Winners will take the mat for the semifinal round following a 30-minute break. The championship finals will begin Saturday at 11:30 a.m.
