CLAY — Clay Mayor Charles Webster and City Manager Ronnie Dixon will meet with officials from Forever Wild and Freshwater Land Trust in Montgomery next week to discuss possible future trails in the city of Clay.
The meeting will be Wednesday, Feb. 25.
The land being talked about is the former Department of Youth Services Girls School and Shadow Lake properties, where a trail could be located to link the Georgebrook subdivision with Cosby Lake Park.
There are 540 acres of land in the area that could also be developed into a subdivision or extension of the Somersby subdivision, according to preliminary plans.
Webster will report news of the meeting to the Clay City Council at its next meeting, scheduled for Monday, March 2 at 6:30 p.m. at Clay City Hall.
