CLAY — The city of Clay earned a “good” audit for 2014, according to Cork, Hill and Company’s David Cork.
Cork reported to the Clay City Council on Tuesday that the city had a “good year this year financially.”
He said revenue exceeded expenditures by $968,000. He also said the city contributed a great deal to the Clay schools.
The city also paid off 0,000 in debt service, which it will again do this year.
City Manager Ronnie Dixon told the city council it “should be impressed” by what it’s done in a short time.
Cork said he believes the city of Clay will be able to do a lot for its residents over the next few years.
“I really think the city is putting itself in a good financial position,” he said.
Dixon said he will be presenting a 401K and 457 plan to the city council before the end of March. The city could offer a package to city employees by the second quarter of this year.
In other news, the restrooms at Cosby Lake Park could be completed and functional by the first week of March.
