TRUSSVILLE — On a frigid Tuesday night, Hewitt-Trussville soccer teams battled the conditions and knocked off a pair of visiting schools at the Trussville Civic Center.
The Lady Huskies (2-1) started the evening by taking on Chelsea. They scored a couple goals in each half and cruised to the easy 4-0 victory.
Hewitt-Trussville’s boys’ team (2-1) hosted another set of Huskies, and knocked off Helena 4-2 in the nightcap. Walker Coop notched a goal in the first half, as Hewitt-Trussville jumped out to a 3-0 lead at intermission.
Both teams now head for warmer temperatures over the weekend, as they will travel to the beach to take part in the Island Cup, hosted by Gulf Shores High School. Each team plays a pair of games Friday, with semifinals and finals taking place Saturday.
