TRUSSVILLE — A settlement has been proposed in the case of Trussville Hooters servers sharing tips with non-wait staff.
The proposed settlement totals $38,000 — approximately $20,000 to the plaintiffs and $18,000 to the plaintiffs’ attorneys. The proposed settlement has been submitted and the court has to determine whether or not to approve it.
An attorney representing the servers declined to comment until after the proposed settlement has been approved by the court.
On Jan. 6, two former Hooters servers at the location near Trussville filed a class action lawsuit against the owner over allegations that Hooters of Trussville, LLC violated the Fair Labor Standard Act.
