Here is this week’s Class 7A baseball poll: No. 1 Mountain Brook (24-3), No. 2 Spain Park (18-10), No. 3 Vestavia Hills (16-11), No. 4 Hewitt-Trussville (14-4), No. 5 Auburn (21-9), No. 6 Thompson (21-9), No. 7 Hoover (23-11), No. 8 Theodore (26-5), No. 9 Central-Phenix City (25-6) and No. 10 Baker (16-7).
On the softball side, Hewitt-Trussville has surrendered the top spot of the Class 7A poll. The Lady Huskies now rank third after a pair of recent losses. This is the first week Hewitt-Trussville is not ranked No. 1.
The Lady Huskies hope to get back on track Thursday night when Area 6 foe No. 2 Spain Park visits Goldie Paine Field. Hewitt-Trussville fell to the Lady Jaguars in extra innings Tuesday night.

Head coach Shane Chappell saw his Pinson Valley baseball team get off to a choppy start in 2015, but the Indians have turned things around. After a momentum-building string of wins at the Gulf Coast Classic in Gulf Shores, Pinson Valley is on the verge of a Class 6A, Area 12 championship. The Indians need a home win over Shades Valley tonight to earn the crown.
