TRUSSVILLE –The Trussville city council approved several purchases last week including $23,798 for two Harley Davidson motorcycles to replace the current bikes used by the traffic division of the police department.
One had been damaged in a wreck and the other had reached the end of service. The motorcycle that is still operational will be declared as surplus and sold.
Replacement lighting for the athletic center gym was also approved for purchased by the council. The new lights will cost just under $9,000.
Approval was also given to accept the low bid for a new fire truck which will take about a year to build.
In other council action, Terry Oglesby was reappointed to the Board of Zoning Adjustment through February 15, 2018.
Carmen LaFosse and Bobbie Rush were reappointed to the Senior Citizen Advisory Committee through April 14, 2019.
The city voted to give a 30 day notice to Alabama Correction Services that the contract for services would be terminated.
