From staff reports
The City of Trussville will host a dedication ceremony for its new Veterans Memorial on Memorial Day. The Trussville Historical Board is planning the ceremony for Monday, May 25 at 10 a.m. at the memorial located in Trussville’s Civitan Park at the corner of Parkway Drive and U.S. Highway 11.
From the War of 1812 to the present War on Terror, citizens of Trussville have courageously served our country in the armed forces. The dedication of the Trussville Veterans Memorial will honor veterans of all wars and branches of service with their names inscribed on the memorial. The public is invited to attend the ceremony. A reception will follow.
While the deadline has passed to place a name on the memorial before the dedication, names can still be added. General information and required forms may be obtained from Trussville City Hall.
Parking for the ceremony will be available at City Hall, Trussville Utilities, Holy Cross Episcopal Church and along Meadow Lane. Handicap parking will be reserved at Trussville Utilities.
No parking is available on Parkway Drive, Highway 11 or inside the Memorial Park.
In the event of inclement weather, the ceremony will be held at City Hall.
