TRUSSVILLE –Trussville police and Alabama Power crews are on the scene at the Main Street and Chalkville Road intersection due to a power outage. Southbound traffic on Chalkville Road is be re-routed behind Braden’s Furniture store.
Isaac Pigott of Alabama Power said about 800 customers were without power at 9:45 a.m. and company officials determined that the cause of the outage was a switch that had burned out between two substations. By 10 a.m., service to all customers had been restored.

Reports of blown transformers began coming in shortly after 9 a.m.
Readers have reported of power outages from Main Street to Mountain Drive have been reported, including the traffic signal at Main Street and Rockridge Avenue.
