TRUSSVILLE –Speculation on which new businesses will be included in the new shopping center on U.S. Highway 11 in Trussville has been rampant. According to various sources, those announcements will be released by the individual retailers on their own time schedule.
While the developer isn’t ready to announce any of the new tenants, they have offered a lengthy list of the type businesses that will not be included in the retail mix. Documents provided to the city list multiple business types that will not be permitted.
Here’s the list:
- car washes
- gas stations or convenience stores
- small engine and appliance repair
- auto dealership
- auction, going out of business, fire, or bankruptcy sales or merchandise liquidator
- tattoo parlor
- rent-to-own store
- check cashing business
- flea market or swap meet
- thrift store or close out store such as Big Lots, Bud’s or Odd Lots
- manufacturing or processing plant
- pawn shop
- funeral home, crematorium, or mortuary
- daycare center
- laundromat
- game room
- hospital
- nursing home
- assisted living facility
- auto parts store
- tanning salon
- tobacco shop or vape or like use
- oil change facility
- second run or dollar movie theater
- dance studio
