Cameron Grondines, son of Darryl and Terri Grondines of Trussville, was named to the Furman University dean’s list for the 2015 spring semester. Furman’s dean’s list is composed of full-time undergraduate students who earn a grade point average of 3.4 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
Sagar Modi, a junior at Mercer University from Trussville, was named to the President’s List of the School of Engineering for the spring 2015 semester. Inclusion on this list requires students to meet rigorous grade-point-average standards specific to the college or school within the University.
Hannah Zahedi, daughter of Dawn and Michael Zahedi of Trussville, was recently honored with other 2014-15 University of Alabama Rural Medical Scholars at the 18th Annual Rural Scholars Convocation. The Rural Medical Scholars Program is for students who plan to practice medicine in areas of Alabama designated “Health Professional Shortage Areas.” Zahedi graduated from The University of Alabama and will enter medical school this summer.
Hayden Gilbertson of Trussville was one of 100 recipients of the 2015 Alfa Foundation scholarship. Each scholarship winner received $1,000. Gilbertson is a graduate of Crossroads Christian School and a freshman at the University of Alabama at Birminghamstudying business and accounting.
Whitney Webster of Trussville has been named to the Berry College Dean’s List for the spring 2015 semester. The dean’s list honors students who posted an academic average of 3.5 or better on a 4.0 scale while carrying a class load of at least 12 hours during the semester.
Ronnie Booth, a 10th grader from Trussville, was recently named to The Webb School’s B Honor Roll for the fourth quarter of the 2014-15 school year. The Webb School is a college preparatory school for grades 6-12.
Jordan Emory Dailey of Trussville was named to the spring 2015 dean’s list at Samford University’s Cumberland School of Law. To qualify for the honor, a student must earn a minimum 3.0 grade point average out of a possible 4.0 while attempting at least 10 credit hours of coursework.
Hewitt-Trussville alum Zackery Eades recently graduated magna cum laude from the University of South Alabama and will attend UAB School of Dentistry in the fall. He is the son of Bucky and Kelly Eades and Kimberly Williams.
Arielle Plass and Erika Quinn of Pinson and Darryl Vason and Sara Barksdale of Trussville have been named to Troy University’s Provost’s List for the spring semester of the 2014-15 academic year. Full-time undergraduate students registered for 12 semester hours or more with a grade point average of 3.65 or higher qualify for the Provost’s List.
Adam Ennis of Pinson has been named to the Chancellor’s List at Troy University for the spring semester of the 2014-15 academic year. The Chancellor’s List honors full-time undergraduate students registered for 12 semester hours or more with a grade point average of 4.0.
Quentin McCall of Trussville was named to Brescia University’s Spring 2015 Dean’s List for completing 12 credit hours with a 3.5 GPA.
Christopher Hayes of Pinson was awarded a Jim Vanderford Technical Scholarship during recent Honors Day events at Gadsden State Community College.
