TRUSSVILLE — The city of Trussville will begin a paving project on Chalkville Road between Poplar St. and Green Dr. tonight at 9 p.m., according to Wayne Sullivan, but the roads will be cleared by 6 a.m. in the morning.
The project will take about four nights to complete.
The Trussville City Council approved a resolution at Tuesday night’s council meeting, authorizing the mayor to sign a resurfacing agreement with the Alabama Dept. of Transportation (ALDOT) for the department to resurface part of Interstate 59 from Edwards Lake Rd. to Chalkville Rd. The council also approved a resolution authorizing ALDOT to resurface the road.
The stretch of Interstate in question has been a major area of concern for anyone exiting from Chalkville Rd. onto I-59 in the past, and although it may cause delays temporarily, will be welcomed news by Trussville drivers.
