BIRMINGHAM –A UAB student was carjacked early Saturday morning, according to Carol Robinson of The Birmingham News.
The student was on the 15th Street South in the 1500 block shortly after midnight when his 2002 Honda Odyssey was carjacked. When Birmingham police arrived on the scene, the spotted the vehicle and began a pursuit, according to Robinson.
Police chased the vehicle to the area of Loveman Village where the alleged assailants jumped from the vehicle and attempted to flee on foot. Officers apprehended one suspect, identified as Courtney Lewis. That suspect has been charged with first degree robbery, Robinson reported.
The second suspect has not been identified and is still at large. Please contact the Birmingham police department if you have any information related to the incident.
