MONTGOMERY – During the next week, five of the 17 Republican Presidential candidates will visit the state of Alabama. Senator Ted Cruz of Texas, former Florida Governor Jeb Bush, Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker and Dr. Ben Carson all have plans to bring their campaigns to the state. Today, Ohio Governor and Republican Presidential candidate John Kasich joined local and elected officials in Birmingham to announce his endorsement from Governor Robert Bentley.
“When this many Presidential candidates are choosing to visit Alabama, it is proof the SEC Primary is working,” Merrill said. “I am proud to see our state receiving the attention it deserves, and I will continue my efforts to secure visits from presidential candidates. It is so important that Alabamians have the opportunity to interact with all candidates in order to learn who best reflects their views.”
Alabama recently saw visits from Senator Ted Cruz, Dr. Ben Carson, Senator Rand Paul, Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker, former Florida Governor Jeb Bush and former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee.
