BIRMINGHAM –Early Saturday morning, police responded to a call of shots being fired and a person down on the 700 block of Springville Road in east Birmingham.
When officers arrived after the 12:15 a.m. call, they found a 16-year-old boy, later identified as Cameron Toles by the Birmingham police department, in a parking lot suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene according to Birmingham police.
According to the release, there was a group of juveniles in the area. Shots were fired when another group of juveniles exited a vehicle. Teenagers then ran in the direction of Springville Road, Fox 6 reported.
The release stated that police were on the scene collecting physical evidence, but it us unknown at this time from the fatal shot was fired. Anyone with information is urged to call the Birmingham police department.
