JEFFERSON COUNTY — Several volunteers from Regions Bank participated in a clean up day on the Cahaba River recently, this was the third clean up day the group has participated.
Volunteers braved low, rocky waters last week to finish their effort, and made a 5.5-mile trek, cleaning up trash from the river. The group even had to stop after just the first mile near Mountain Brook because all of their boats were full.
The volunteers then collected another equal or greater amount over the rest of the trip. The Cahaba River Society would like to thank Southern Rubber Tire Pros for accepting 10 tires and some additional tire remnants from that second trash pile.
