TRUSSVILLE — A band booster at Hewitt-Trussville has opened a public funding account in hopes of helping a Hewitt-Trussville senior replace his instrument, allegedly stolen from the Hewitt-Trussville band room.
According to the funding account, the trombone was a Jupiter 1240rt bass trombone, in a Marcus Bonna Bass case and the cost is upwards of ,000, an amount Stewart and his parents split to purchase the instrument, according to the post description.
The trombone was in the band room, and was taken while Stewart Brockman marched with the Husky band on Aug. 27.
Kelli Phillpson, creator of the account, and friend of the Brockman family, wrote “I’ve served on the band booster board as treasurer and work with (Stewart’s parents) Rachel and Dave (Brockman) in concessions and other band events where I have come to cherish their friendship. They are such loving parents and caring individuals, I just couldn’t pass up this chance to show them we, as a band family, care about them! Thank you, in advance, for any donations or prayers!”
