SHELBY COUNTY — Shelby County deputies, along with Pelham police detectives arrested Tyler Rettig, 18, of Chelsea, on eight charges of unlawful breaking and entering a vehicle earlier today according to a press release.
Pelham police identified Rettig as a suspect in a residential burglary, and obtained a search warrant for his home. Detectives and sheriff’s deputies discovered a number of items allegedly stolen from various car burglaries in Chelsea and Sterrett areas.
“We are all very fortunate to have such a positive and professional working relationship with each agency in our county and I believe the citizens are better served as a result of such,” Shelby County sheriff John Samaniego said of the two departments collaborative efforts.
Pehlam police also charged Rettig with burglary and third degree theft of property.
He has been released on $50,000 bond from the Shelby County jail.
