TRUSSVILLE — A scholarship fund to honor the memory of Brayden Turner is hosting a fundraiser on Sunday, Sept. 20, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Faith Community Fellowship entitled “Cheeseburgers in Paradise”. The dinner and scholarship fund will be used to allow children and youth to attend church mission trips, something Brayden’s mother Sarah Turner always wanted to experience with her son.
“I always dreamed of going on a mission trip with Brayden one day,” Sarah Turner said. “Now I know our son is on a greater mission that we might not quite understand yet, but will one day.”
Brayden passed away almost two years ago, but Sarah said she continues to meet people her son touched on a daily basis. She said she was proud to hear of how her son talked of his love for Jesus, and how his light shined bright in the world.
“The thought of our youth going out into the world spreading Jesus’ love in Brayden’s memory and honor makes us very humbled and proud of our son even more today,” Sarah Turner said.
A scholarship fund will be set up for children to use in the event they are unable to attend church mission trips, and there is an account at Bryant Bank set up for the fund.
Turner passed away in September 2013 in an off-road vehicle accident on Carrington Lake Parkway.
