HOOVER — The SEC Primary continues to gain steam as Democratic Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton will be making a trip to Alabama to address the Alabama Democratic Conference’s semi-annual convention at the Hyatt Regency Birmingham — The Wynfrey Hotel in Hoover on Oct. 17.
Clinton is expected to address a number of topics, including Medicaid, college tuition, fair taxes and more.
““As Secretary of State, I will continue to position Alabama and the South as a place where Presidential candidates are willing to make an effort to visit and meet our outstanding citizens,” Secretary of State John Merrill said in a statement. “When this many Presidential candidates are choosing to visit Alabama, it is proof the SEC Primary is working. The SEC Primary greatly increases the importance of southeastern states to candidates of both major parties, and I am proud to see our state receiving the attention it deserves. It is so important that Alabamians have the opportunity to interact with all candidates in order to learn who best reflects their views.”
Clinton joins Senator Bernie Sanders as the only Democratic candidates to visit the state so far this election cycle.
