FORESTDALE — Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a robbery on Cochise Trail in Forestdale around 8 p.m. Monday night a release said. An elderly male reported five black males, three wearing masks, forced their way into his home and assaulted him. Once inside, the suspects forced the victim to open a safe by burning him with an iron and pouring rubbing alcohol on the wounds.
The safe was empty, but the suspects allegedly made off with jewelry and cash.
The victim was able to break free from being tied up, and call 911.
The suspects also left in the victim’s 2012 Honda Civic, but after a broadcast to authorities, the vehicle was located on Dugan Avenue near Pebble Creek Apartments. Officials believe the suspects fled on foot, and tracking dogs were searching for the suspects at the time of the release.
