TRUSSVILLE — The Trussville Fire Department will dedicate its new pink fire truck on Oct. 24 at a ceremony from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Bryant Bank in downtown Trussville.
The truck was donated, and is a 1991 Pierce Arrow Telesquirt with a reserve ladder. The department said it could even be used in backup during an emergency situation. The paint was donated and completed by Willie Myers at Myers Auto Collision Repair. Trussville Fire Chief Russell Ledbetter said the truck could not have been painted without the donation of paint and time from Myers.
Members of the department are submitting names of women who have had breast cancer and a committee will choose a name from the list to name the truck. The name will be announced at the dedication ceremony.
