PINSON — The Pinson City Council took yet another step towards turning the Rock School into something of which area residents could be proud. The council approved a ,500 resolution authorizing Hendon Huckstein Architects to draft conceptual plans for possible future Rock School renovations.
According to Mayor Hoyt Sanders, Eric Hendon, one of the firm’s founders and principal designers, has previously done work on the building and is extremely familiar with the structure.
The contract will cover conceptual drawings, computer-aided design input of the existing floor plan, zoning and building code considerations, along with floor plan design studies and concept drawings for proposed designs.
The $7,500 would be credited against the full fee should the council approve the firm as the project’s architects.
