Trussville Tribune writers Erik Harris, Chris Yow and Kyle Parmley will be awarding Players of the Week in each high school football matchup of the 2015 season. Players or position groups will be awarded based on more than just statistics. The awarded player(s) will also be evaluated based on the timeliness of their performance. Tribune Players of the Week will be announced weekly on Tribune Sports Live.
Hewitt-Trussville 35, Thompson 17
Grayson Cash was pretty much everywhere in Hewitt-Trussville’s region win over Thompson last week. He made his biggest splash with an 80-yard touchdown off a third quarter kickoff return. His timely performance came at the right moment, as the Warriors’ offense had just found the end zone for the first time. Cash also broke up a pair of passes, secured five tackles and recovered a fumble. Offensively, he finished the night with 21 yards from scrimmage. Cash is awarded by Kyle Parmley.

Clay-Chalkville 52, Shades Valley 14
It was another big outing for Clay-Chalkville’s offense, under the direction of senior quarterback Ty Pigrome. The righty turned in a stellar performance that ended with 444 yards of offense. He completed 12 of his 21 pass attempts for 307 yards and four scores. Pigrome went for another 137 yards on the ground in a blowout victory. Through seven games, his touchdown-to-interception ratio is 18-1. Pigrome is awarded by Erik Harris.
