MOUNTAIN BROOK — The Hewitt-Trussville volleyball team ended its season with a 3-0 defeat at No. 1 Mountain Brook in the Class 7A, Area 6 Tournament on Monday night.

The Huskies entered the tournament as the fourth seed while the hosts held the top spot in the area standings.
The Spartans set the tone from the start by opening the night with a 25-10 win. They followed that up with a 25-15 win in Set 2 followed by a 25-21 victory in the third and final set of the match.
Hewitt-Trussville recorded a total of 16 kills, 12 of them came from junior Rhianna Tyldesley. She also went for six digs and two blocks.
Katie Edwards went for a team high seven digs. Senior Meagan Edwards led the Huskies with 14 assists. Fellow senior Brianna Hampton added another six kills.
