BIRMINGHAM – A two-vehicle crash at 8:17 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 20, claimed the life of a Birmingham woman according to Alabama State Trooper Chuck Daniel.
Jordan Alexa Mays, 25, was killed when the 2008 Honda CR-V she was driving was struck by a 2000 International tractor trailer driven by Chassidy Renae Garner-James, 39, of Holly Springs, Miss. Mays was pronounced dead at the scene.
An infant in Mays’ vehicle was injured and transported to Children’s Hospital in Birmingham. James was injured and transported to Grandview Medical Center. The crash occurred on U.S. 280 at the intersection of Shelby County 280.
Nothing further is available as Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate.
