TRUSSVILLE – Hewitt-Trussville senior quarterback Zac Thomas has confirmed that he suffered a break to both his fibula and tibia in Friday night’s loss to Class 7A, Region 3 opponent Hoover.
According to Thomas, surgery went well, but he continues to experience a great deal of pain. The reigning All-Tribune and All-State signal caller is likely out for the remainder of the 2015 season.
The Huskies, currently ranked No. 8 in Class 7A, will visit Class 6A No. 1 Clay-Chalkville next Friday before beginning postseason play in November.
Thomas suffered the leg injury in the second quarter of last night’s 38-0 loss. He had completed five of his eight passing attempts against the Bucs to go along with three runs of 10 or more yards.
