ODENVILLE — A fight at St. Clair County High School in Odenville was videotaped on Friday, and the fight left one boy injured and eight others in custody, authorities said.

The victim was treated for injuries and is expected to be fully recover.
“I am heartbroken about the incident that took place at St. Clair County High School. Bullying and fighting are not actions that will be tolerated at any of our schools,” Jenny Seals, Superintendent of St. Clair County schools said in a statement. “We strive daily to provide the proper guidance for our young people in making choices about how to deal with others. However, despite our best efforts, all young people do not make the choice to follow the rules and solve their issues in a healthy way, and as such, incidents such as the one Friday take place.
“In dealing with this matter, school administrative personnel, board personnel, law enforcement and juvenile system personnel, immediately took action and had those individuals who were involved in the perpetration of this incident, removed from the school setting,” she said. “It is anticipated that there will be serious consequences for those individuals. I am pleased to report that, according to his parents, the young man upon which the violence took place is doing well.”
The case is still being investigated between the Odenville Police Department, St. Clair County Sheriff’s Department, St. Clair County District Attorney’s office as well as school officials.
