TRUSSVILLE — Alabama Hospice Care of Birmingham met Monday, Nov. 9, with Trussville Mayor Gene Melton as he signed a proclamation of November as National Hospice Month. RN Administrator Laura Swinford, pictured in center, said the group will meet with Alabama Governor Robert Bentley next week when he signs a statewide proclamation.
“When everyone thinks of Hospice they may automatically assume the person has to be actively dying, but that is not always the case. We want to help increase the quality of life of those who have terminal illnessess and help support their loved ones by providing spiritual and emotional support,” Swinford said.
