BIRMINGHAM — Jamarlon Edwards, 18, has been arrested by the Birmingham police after a warrant was issued against him for first degree robbery.
On Nov. 8, 2015 at approximately 10:35 a.m., the victim was robbed of her vehicle in the 1800 block of Bessemer Road. The victim was in her vehicle, a 2013 Red Dodge Challenger, when it was intentionally struck from behind, allegedly by the suspect, and then the vehicle was stolen from her when she got out to assess the damages.
A detective was able to idenity Edwards and obtained the warrant against him. On Sunday, Edwards was arrested by West Precinct officers on the outstanding warrant.
Edwards is believed to be part of a group that has been committing recent carjackings and robberies in Birmingham and possibly the surrounding area. Edwards is being held on a $150,000 bond for the robbery and may have additional warrants from Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department as well.
Detectives are actively looking for additional individuals that are a part of a group.
