From staff reports
TRUSSVILLE –Trussville’s annual Christmas parade presented by Trussville Area Chamber of Commerce (TACC) will take place on Saturday, Dec. 12, at 3 p.m. through historic downtown Trussville. The Trussville Tribune also plans to stream the parade live once again at TrussvilleTribune.com.
Prizes will be awarded for the best decorated floats. The top three places will receive $100, $75, and $50, respectively, and will be recognized at the Chamber’s December luncheon. The float competition is sponsored by America’s First Federal Credit Union.

Santa will be a much-anticipated personality at the end of the parade, and float entries are not allowed to include Santa on the floats. The forecast calls for a 100 percent chance of ‘snow’, albeit produced, sponsored by Trussville Gas & Water.
The day’s festivities will conclude with the city’s annual Christmas tree lighting at West Mall immediately following the parade. Hot chocolate will be provided by Bryant Bank, and parade-goers will enjoy live entertainment by HTMS student Brinkley Rackstraw.
The Christmas parade is sponsored by Amerex Corporation, City of Trussville, Brumlow Legal Group and silver sponsors Trinity Contractors, RealtySouth/Lee Marlow and Mike & Mike’s Complete Auto Care.
The chamber will also present its annual “Photogenic Contest” where winners and alternates will be selected by age groups ranging from newborn to age 18. Registration is only $20, and the deadline is Dec. 2.
