TRUSSVILLE — The Trussville City Council held a rescheduled meeting on Thursday, Nov. 19 in lieu of their scheduled meeting next Tuesday. At the meeting, the council revisited a previous public hearing on Mr. Chen’s Authentic Chinese Cuisine’s application to serve beer and wine.
At a previous meeting, the representative for the restaurant was unable to answer several of the council’s questions. General Manager of the Trussville location Thomas Chen was present at the meeting, and spoke on behalf of the location. The council approved during the meeting, a motion to allow the restaurant to sell beer and wine.
As a stipulation of the approval, Chen agreed he would apply to the ABC board to make the Trussville location of Mr. Chen’s a part of the state’s responsible vendor program, which helps small businesses better train employees on identifying underage and over-served guests. All three of Mr. Chen’s restaurants around the state are already part of the program, according to Chen.
