BIRMINGHAM — Birmingham police have released the name of the female in custody following a shooting on Parkway East Tuesday night. Birmigham police Lt. Sean Edwards announced Friday that Stephanie Brown, 27, of Birmingham, has been charged with reckless manslaughter and is being held in the Jefferson County jail on $30,000 bond.
Edwards said the victim, 29-year-old Jamal Holder, attempted to break up a fight between Brown and another female when he was shot. Edwards said after the initial investigation, police concluded the suspect intended to shoot the opposite female.
Holder was taken to St. Vincent’s East where he fought for his life before succumbing to his injuries.
