TRUSSVILLE — A website, “Niche”, has ranked the top 500 public high schools in the country, and the every public high school in each state during their 2016 Best Public High School rankings.
According to the website, the program, “provides a comprehensive assessment of the overall experience of a public high school. This grade takes into account key factors such as the strength of academics, quality of teachers, school resources, the quality of student life, as well as student and parent reviews, in an attempt to measure the overall excellence of the school.”
Hewitt-Trussville High School was ranked 17th in the 2016 rankings released this week.
The school received an “A” as an overall Niche grade, with the lowest grade coming in student diversity. According to the website, 84 percent of Hewitt-Trussville students are classified as “white”.
The highest grade for the school was an “A+” in food. One high school senior commented on the survey that, “The lunchroom food is a good as you would suspect from a lunchroom. The lunchroom is always very clean and monitored well. We are provided with many options for lunch. I rarely buy my lunch from school, but when I do it is fairly good.”
The school is above average in most all categories the publication ranks.
