CLAY — The Clay-Chalkville Cougars are preparing for a shot at another state championship this week, culminating with the final game of the year on Friday night at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa against undefeated Spanish Fort. The game is scheduled for 7 p.m.
The Class 6A state championship game will be the seventh and final contest of the AHSAA Super 7 event, that hosts all seven classification’s state title games. Class 7A will kick off the event on Wednesday, with classes 1A, 3A and 5A on Thursday beginning at 11 a.m. Friday’s games will be classes 2A, 4A and 6A, and will also begin at 11 a.m.
For those travelling to the game, a few things to know: The “Walk of Champions” will begin 4:55 p.m. for the Class 6A teams, but fans who arrive after 5 p.m. can park in the Ten Hoor parking area on a first-come, first-serve basis in addition to parking in the Northeast Commuter Lot. Fans can utilize the Campus Drive East exit to easily access the lot when traveling to the stadium via McFarland Boulevard. Free shuttles will be available on Friday to transport fans to and from the stadium at this location. The shuttle will run from the Northeast Commuter Lot from 8 a.m. until one hour after the conclusion of the day’s final game.
Some prohibited items inside the stadium include: artificial noise makers, umbrellas, video camcorders, seats with a back larger than 16 inches wide, bags or purses bigger than 8.5 in. by 11 in. and more that can be found at www.super7al.com
The game will be broadcast live on television and radio, as well as updated on The Tribune’s Facebook and Twitter accounts.
For television viewers, the game will be broadcast on Charter Cable channel 192 and Bright House channels 226 and 363. Satellite television subscribers and AT&T U-verse users will not have access through their subscriptions, but will need to pick up over-the-air channel WBRC 6.2 via antenna.
