From staff reports
JEFFERSON COUNTY — Just after 11:30 a.m. Thursday morning, Jefferson County sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a former patient threatening the staff at a care facility in the 100 block of Mars Hill Road in Hoover.
It was reported that a former patient, 44-year-old Bobby Lynn Box, made threats via telephone on Dec. 2 to harm the staff and was now in the waiting room of the office.
Box, a Helena resident, was a patient of the facility at one time, but the doctor discontinued treating him after he made threats to kill the entire staff. He was told not to return to the practice.
On Wednesday, Box called the office demanding his medical records and stated the staff had better call him back and they should remember the promise he had made. The staff then explained to him they do not have his records in that office.
On Thursday, Dec. 3, just after 11:30 a.m., Box walked into the officer and demanded his medical records while he stood at the counter with his hand behind his back. The staff locked the entry door to the treatment area, moved to rear of the building and called 911. Deputies arrived and located Box still standing at the front counter of the office.
He was arrested and charged with two counts of making terroristic threats. He remains in the Jefferson County Jail with bond set at $200,000.
