TRUSSVILLE — Trussville City Councilman Buddy Choat announced Tuesday night at the city council’s meeting, Blackwater Resources, the company who owns the property across from the Tutwiler subdivision along U.S. 11, has closed on all lots, and will soon begin pre-construction meetings with contractors to begin work on Homestead Village, a new retail area in the city.
Choat said he was proud to announce Hobby Lobby would be the anchor tenant in the Homestead Village development. Choat said Hobby Lobby will have a 55,000 square foot building. Fresh Market, a specialty grocery store, will come in with 22,000 square foot building, and cosmetics store Ulta will join PetCo as the major tenants in the project.
Choat said contracts are in negotiations with Panera Bread and Zoe’s Kitchen as well to join the area. The preliminary schedule is for the project to open in the Spring of 2017.
