TRUSSVILLE – Head coach Katie Riggins and the Hewitt-Trussville volleyball team held a banquet on Tuesday night when six individual awards were handed out in regards to the 2015 season. The Huskies’ coaching staff determined award winners based on performance.
Junior Rhianna Tyldesley accepted four of those awards, Megan and Katie Edwards each claimed an award, and Kaitlyn McDaniel pulled down the Husky Award, given to the player which exudes the most “heart and soul”, according to Riggins.
“That individual that shows heart and will go that extra little bit consistently and will always think of the team first,” said Riggins. “It’s pretty special and when we as coaches see that in a player, it’s usually pretty obvious.”
Riggins will lose the following four seniors from this year’s roster: Meagan Edwards, Brianna Hampton, Jordan Somers and Charyse Swann.
