IRONDALE — Revocation Radio, a Birmingham-based Christian radio station, wants to extend its coverage to the Trussville, Clay and Pinson areas, but help is needed. Jon Walden, the station’s general manager, said he planned to boost the signal of frequency 88.1 to this area with funds raised today.
The fundraiser is being held over the air today on the station, but donors can donate via text message by sending “myrevradio” to 41444 to receive a link to a donation form. Walden said the station would also take pledges over the phone at 205-402-4266 for those uncomfortable with submitting information online.
Walden said the fundraiser will last from 7 a.m. until 9 p.m. with a goal of ,000.
“The sooner we raise the money, the sooner we can go on air,” he said.
According to their website, “Revocation Radio is the only station on terrestrial frequencies that broadcasts our specific mix of Christian Rock and Hip-Hop. Hip-Hop music is so prevalent and influential in today’s society and culture, that we believe it is imperative to broadcast a Christian alternative with life-breathing messages and unparalleled quality, not only in lyrics, but also in production.”
