TRUSSVILLE — Two of Trussville’s jewelry stores were burglarized Friday night according to Trussville police. Zales Jewelers, located in the Pinnacle Shopping Center and Waldin Jewelers, located in the Crescent Shopping Center, both off U.S. 11 were burglarized Christmas night.
Trussville Police Chief Don Sivley said the store’s alarm sounded at 9:54 p.m. Christmas night when the suspects broke into the store through the wall of the adjacent building that is vacant. ,000 in jewelry was stolen from the store, while another ,000 of damage was done.
The owner of Waldin Jewelers said surveillance video shows the suspects wore hoodies and masks. Other witnesses said the suspects fled from the scene on foot.
The front door of Zales Jewelers was broken during the burglary, and was found by an employee of another business around 7 a.m. Dec. 26. More than 0,000 in jewelry was taken from Zales, and another ,000 in damage was done.
Trussville police are continuing to investigate. Anyone with information should contact the Trussville Police Department.
