TRUSSVILLE –An early morning fire at Red Robin Gourmet Burgers at the Pinnacle in Trussville caused some damage to the building, but there were no injuries from the blaze.

Trussville Fire and Rescue responded to the scene shortly before 8 a.m. Friday to find the fire burning on the exterior of the building.
Officials said the fire started in the sign, which they believe malfunctioned and shorted out, on the side of the building. The fire then worked it’s way up into the roof.
The damage was primarily cosmetic and there was no structural damage to the building. The building was unoccupied and no employees were present when the fire began.
